Kitespots
Cumbuco
From Cumbuco's beaches kiters have direct access to the
water almost everywhere. The most popular spots are around
kitecentre Blue Wind, about 50 meters from Laranja Mecanica,
and near hotel Golfinho, just a bit further away from
the villagecentre. One of the highlights is a downwinder
from Cumbuco to Cauipi.
Icarai
Near the bridge between Icarai and Tabuba, approximately
ten kilometers from Cumbuco direction Fortaleza, is a
freshwater lake, situated behind the dunes. This trip
costs 110 Reais per buggy (three persons maximum).
Cauipe
About ten kilometers north of Cumbuco you will find lagoon
Cauipe, a popular spot among kitesurfers because of the
wind and the smooth watersurface. The lake isn't very
big, so it may get a little crowded from time to time.
You can get a lift in the morning and get picked up at
the end of the afternoon. This trip costs 110 Reais per
buggy (three persons maximum).
Paracuru
Paracuru is looked upon as one of the best kitespots.
It is situated about 80 kilometers from Cumbuco. Because
of a reef break the water is as smooth as glass and immediately
behind it beautifully rolling waves varying from fifty
centimeters to three meters high. Kitesurfing here is
only possible when the tide is out. This trip costs 210
Reais per buggy (with a maximum of three).
