Kite surfing

More and more kitesurfers discover Brazil. Every year in November, top surfers come together for the world cupfinals in Fortaleza's Beachpark.

The northeast coast, and in particular Cumbuco and its surroundings, is one of the best spots in the world to practise this sport. Just imagine: temperatures between 28 and 35 degrees Celsius all year round, sandy beaches and freshwater lakes and most important of all: steady winds six months per year. From July till December there's a wind-force four to five. A 10, 12 or 14 m2 kite is required for. During the rest of the year it may occur that the wind is not blowing strong enough.

Cumbuco offers many kitespots, for beginners as well as advanced kiters. By buggy you get to the best spots. There are several places where you can take lessons or rent materials.
